  MAY 2008

VIDEO FROM THE JEWELBOX SHOW ON YOUTUBE
First of all, thanks to everyone who came out to see us on May 1st at the JewelBox Theater. We had a blast playing that night and sharing the bill with our friends The Rivertubes. The JewelBox is a great small club in Seattle, a really fun place to play.

We got some great video from that night of both Dyslextasy and The Rivertubes. We've started to post some of it to YouTube, and have links to videos from this website (under the "The Band" section). One of these days we'll put out a DVD with performances from that night. Thanks to Shala, Carl, David, and everyone who helped run cameras and sound. Thanks also to Ariel from the Jewelbox for booking us in and running sound that night.

NEXT SHOW: MAY 1st AT THE RENDEZVOUS/JEWELBOX THEATER
We are playing on May 1st at the JewelBox Theater in Seattle/Belltown. This is a free show, and we will be sharing the stage with The Rivertubes, one of our favorite local bands. Should be a fun night! Music starts at 10:00pm. Hope to see you there! Bring your friends!

CD RELEASE PARTY: THANKS!!!!
Wow - what can we say other than a million thanks for coming out for our CD Release Party on April 18th. We had a fun night, it was the perfect way to celebrate the release of our new CD. Despite the snow, we had an amazing crowd! It means a lot to us that you came out to support us!

In case you missed the show -- or you just want to relive the moment -- we have uploaded some video to YouTube from that night. Check it out!

We also want to thank Urban Cheese Records, The Cocktail Revisionists, The Runs, Blockhead and The Liquid Now for making this an incredible night of indie music. Also thanks to Jules Maes for having us -- great sound, great venue, great drinks. Special thanks to the Runs for flying up from the SF Bay Area for the show.

Confirmed bands are: The Cocktail Revisionists (featuring members of dyslextasy), dyslextasy (CD Release), The Runs (old-school punk rock from San Jose, CA), blockhead (Reunion show - blockhead was the first band signed to Urban Cheese Records, and also features members of dyslextasy), and The Liquid Now (a great local indie rock band).

  JANUARY 2008:

CD UPDATE
We just got word that the CDs will be delivered on January 30th or 31st. We will start selling them on Thursday January 31st on our website (on the "Get Stuff" page), and on the Urban Cheese Records Webstore. The CDs will be $8 + shipping. In the near future we will also have them for sale on CDBaby.com, iTunes and also some record stores around the Seattle area.

AIRPLAY & CHARTING
Two of our songs are doing really well right now on Internet radio: "A bug in a jar" and "Last call". Over on IACMusic, "Bug" has been in the top 10 for a while, and is currently sitting as the #4 song on their site. On SongPlanet, several songs have charted well, but "Last Call" is doing very well and has been the top song a few times since December. Deejay WaR picked the song as his favorite of December (thanks!). And Last Call was also picked up by Mike Cameo's "Indies Top 10" show/podcast, and we were a featured band on the January show.

REVIEWS!
We're getting some great early reviews of the CD.

"Clever and sharp, intelligent without being preachy, dyslextasy puts an original spin on everyday things that has me smiling like a mofo. 'Mr. Sunshine' is the hilarious tale of an unwanted asshole at somebody's party. It's dead-on and fun as all get out and is a perfect example of how these guys wryly just nail it. Musically, dyslextasy mixes it up a bit, rocking out here, smoothly cruising along there, but it's always a great complement to their lyrics, which is really the strength of this band. There's also a fair amount of boozy hijinks on 'Live. Die. Repeat.', and as a habitual drunkard, I really appreciate that." – Ben Hunter, Askew Reviews

"Dyslextasy: Hard to pronounce but not as hard as the tunes these guys are cranking out. It's like Willie Wonka spelled with a Dyslextasy and everyone should have a taste of the ear candy these guys bring. They came, they conquered, and are on the way to be yet another big named rock band that will pin Seattle on the hits list." -- Deejay WaR, SongPlanet.com

"Hard and raw, no messing Rock that grinds and slides like a steam roller or a heavy ice smoothing machine. There's no escaping this sound so let it roll over you" - JAWZ. IACMusic.com

"Now I understand why they kept calling me ‘Mr. Sunshine.’ I’m crestfallen." –The Rakish Cad

"Drinking Songs for the New World Order"

dyslextasy is a Seattle-based band, somewhere at the intersection of rock, punk and garage. The idea for dyslextasy has been brewing for several years, but never got off the ground -- until now. The guys in the band have known each other for 10 years, and have been in and out of bands together over the years. They kept talking about putting together a killer band based on a shared rock-n-roll vision/manifesto. Then, in October 2007, a number of things fell into place and the band was finally formed. By the end of November, they had recorded their debut EP, "Live. Die. Repeat.", which will be released in early 2008 on Seattle indie label, Urban Cheese Records.

  DECEMBER 2007:

MASTERING!
The CD was mastered by Mark Guenther of Seattle Disc Mastering. He did an amazing job (as usual) but we decided to have him change some things around, so the mastering took a little longer than usual to complete. This means the CD's probably won't go to the manufacturer before January, but we still should be on track for a late January release.

  NOVEMBER 2007:

RECORDING!
We started recording on November 1st, and by November 30th we have completed recording and mixing our debut CD, "Live. Die. Repeat." This CD will go to mastering in December, and will hopefully be manufactured in late December or early January. If all goes according to plan, we'll have the CD's out in January. Stay tuned for details.
